Everything was fine in this movie except for the sub-titles...

Escondido Center for the Arts

Raul Guerrero graduated from the Chouinard Art Institute, Los Angeles in 1970, BFA. He held his first one person exhibition at the Cirrus Gallery in 1974, which was followed by numerous solo and joint exhibitions in such diverse cities as San Francisco, Santa Fe, New York, Madrid and Tokyo to name a few. Significant among these were a retrospective survey of his artwork at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in 1998.

Yvonne Venegas grew up in Tijuana, Mexico, studied in San Diego, Ca. and Mexico City before spending a year at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. In New York she assisted photographers as Dana Lixenberg, Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber. Her work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, SPIN, Details and also in Zoom and Luna Cornea, from Mexico among others. She has exhibited her work in Tijuana, Mexico City, New York, California, Madrid, Valencia and Quebec, and is currently exhibiting with the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2002 she won 1st prize in the Mexico City Photo Bi-enal. She is currently studying Visual Arts / Media focus at University of California San Diego.

Iana Quesnell is from the southern states and is currently in the Masters Program at UCSD. Iana’s current work is about temporary living situations, specificity of place, as well as, navigation through the spaces she occupies and intends to occupy. Whether that be a military tent in Bosnia, her car, a studio on the border in Tijuana, or the Omni Hotel (for a week for this project), each incorporates architectural floor plans and schematic rendering with more experiential and ephemeral details. A viewer is initially pulled in to the work by its beautiful draftsmanship and the surprise of its scale but it’s the conceptual underpinnings that seal the deal. She’s quite literally drafting her life and this odd combination of technical drawing and autobiography yields an unexpected and original narrative. Iana Quesnell engages drawing as a mediating tool between her own body and her immediate surroundings. Often painfully honest these exceptional, large scale drawings take into account her every move with excruciating detail.

These are a the chapters that are in my book. I am having three chapters
1 Is my life which is to me my photography and what it means to me.
2 Is my love and the drawing and art aspect that my life is revolved around.
3 is my passion, in this chapter I will showcase the graphic design aspect of my life and how it relates to my life.

Eolo Perfido Photography

Eolo Perfido states that "photography arrived quite late in his life, but fortunately passions are timeless," so at 28 he took a camera in his hands and without knowing that after a while his desire would be to keep it there forever. To take pictures has become something that goes beyond the simple realization of images and has deeply changed his way of experiencing life and relating to others.

In the current years he has worked for several international agencies, customers and magazines such as Pepsi Cola, The New York Times, Vision, Vogue Russia, Gatorade, Novartis, Corbis, GQ Russia to name some of them.

He was born in Cognac (France) in February 1972, and he lives in Rome and works all over the world.

Kenny Sanchez Photography

Kenny is a good friend of mine and his photography just sticks out to me in the same way his photos pop out to viewers like you and I. I have known Kenny now for five years and it was just recently that his works have been selling. He uses a lot of the same style in every one of his photos and he tells me that when someone looks at his photos he wants them to know that it is a Sanchez photo...

Well I thought that after viewing that short film about Sarah Moon and her work I would figure out what I was going to write my book on, but to put it gently, this film absolutely confused the hell out of me.
After watching The film by Sarah Moon film I believe that I am going to stick with what I originally planed to write on. I am going to take Deborah's advice and do a self reflection book about me and what makes me who I am. I am going to write about what makes my art unique, my photographs stand out and my designs hold value with their intended client. I really do think this book will have a huge eye opening effect and will serve well.
I have actually already started the process by gathering some images, and touching up others. I am reaching down deep this time and trying to pull out all stops. I am going to take this project seriously and hope that come the end of April, early May, I will have a new found love for the book making process, and what goes into writing about ones life...

Stefan Sagmeister

After watching this flick it is apparent that Mr. Meister is a loon. There are a lot of people that think typography is cool and alive but Stefan took this to a whole new level with placing graphic type over the body.  Not so much graphically in a sense of violence but more in the images that he uses.

I thought that it was cool!

Girlfriend 7.0 v.s Wife 1.0

Dear Tech Support:
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources.
In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities, such as Poker Night 10.3, Fantasy Football 5.0, and Golf 3.6

I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my other favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0 , but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0

Please help!

Thanks,

Travis

Response was as follows:

Dear Travis,
This is a common problem found among stupid males ranging from ages 21 – 100, like yourself. This extremely disruptive virus, known as Wife 1.0, is a big scam. Let me explain.

First off, it advertises great new features such as home cooked meals, regular sex, and a clean home. However, it fails to mention that these great new features are merely a 60 day trial and to keep those features running you will have to uninstall MS Money. In addition, if you read user reports, you will find that when you install Wife 1.0, it automatically erases previously installed programs such as Head 2.4, Guys Night Out 7.1, and A Peaceful Quiet Car Ride 3.5.

These are a few reasons why I always recommend keeping Girlfriend 7.0 installed, while also running Girlfriend 6.0 and Girlfriend 5.0 in the background.

You can uninstall Wife 1.0 by purchasing Divorce 6.2, however, this is extremely expensive and won’t even leave you with enough money to reinstall Girlfriend 7.0. In other words, you are shit out of luck. Congratulations on your new software.

Best Regards,

David Carson, Say What?

I feel that what David Carson said was very interesting. What does a word really mean? Is typeface really that important? I think yes!

Yes these symbols are just letters on a page but like he said is that really "decaffeinated?" Yes we see that is what is typed, but is that the feeling you get when you look at that word? Are you somehow connected to that word through your own thoughts, feeling, past actions? Can that typeface really evoke those sensory images?
On the other hand what Carson talked about with the Zip dingbat font was interesting. He stated that yes there was writing there but how useful is that information to you?
